Erasmus program is a component of the new Community Education Program, which aims to help academic mobilities - both the students / MA / PhD students and the teachers. Another objective is to encourage cooperation between universities ERASMUS Europe in higher education.

ERASMUS supports the developing of the European dimension of graduate programs and covers all disciplines and fields of study.

How they encourage mobility, ie the study visits is twofold:
institutional support;
financial support.

Institutional support is made that move you to the study is accompanied by an agreement between universities, which commits them to receive tax-free studies, and to recognize that the results of your study period spent abroad (exams, notes , credits).

Financial support consists of a grant to help you achieve this shift. It is by no means a scholarship covering all expenses (travel, accommodation, meals, books and supplies), but only an allowance to demonstrate encouragement and solidarity from the European Union and the governments of the two countries involved. Indeed, the money comes from the state budget so novel, and from those of the Member States of the Union.
